Knowing it would get up to 92 degrees today, we woke up at 5:30, packed up camp from the Webster fire station, and pedaled off.
The roads were incredibly quiet, and we were pretty much he only ones out on the scenic highway by Lake Ontario! We were on that one road (4 lane divided highway) for hours, but we would often go about 15 minutes between seeing cars.
At about 11:30, it was getting pretty hot, so we pulled into a state park (which kind of popped up from nowhere) and settled in for the afternoon.
We jumped in the lake later in the afternoon, then feeling refreshed, hopped back on our bikes. We were starting the afternoon ride with almost 50 miles already done, which felt great. With multiple snack breaks and a dinner break, we passed the 80 mile marker for the day, and started looking for a campsite. We stopped at a friendly-looking greenhouse, and talked to the woman there, Wendy, who is letting us camp in her yard!
