Today was our first rest day of the trip, and we were able to spend the day on the beach – swimming, relaxing, eating, and napping.
First thing after breakfast, we jumped off the pier with Julian. What “no swimming” sign?
We watched someone grate the main part of the beach so it looked like freshly groomed snow. It was certainly nice to get fresh tracks! But the sand was soon back to normal, and Aidan was slightly offended that our friend the maintenance guy didn’t have a chat with the people in that blue tent.
Throughout the day, the maintenance guy would say hi, and he always managed to slip in a little reminder that camping wasn’t allowed on that beach. So after dinner, we hopped back on our bikes, and ended up riding 30 miles. We were only thinking of going 10, but the weather was so perfect and we felt rested, so it was on westward.
